If you enjoy urban living with historical flair, the Downtown area is for you. You can choose to live in a historic row/town home in Jackson Ward, a modern condo/loft residence with breathtaking rooftop views of the city and the Mighty James, or you can opt for a funky contemporary number for a standout dwelling. The city bustles during the day and then once the 9-5'ers have gone to happy hour and home, the denizens of downtown are enjoying the great dining and arts in the area. Shockoe Bottom is nightlife central on the weekends with its many guests looking for a stiff cocktail and some dancing. Bridal parties have been known to litter the streets from the nearby hotels. Monroe Ward is sprinkled with apartment buildings housing VCU students, but very pretty along Franklin Street.
